The Europe House in Oslo is a politically and religiously independent foundation participating in a network with 130 other Europe Houses. The aim of the foundation is to actively spread information and knowledge within the fields of European culture, politics and society. Trough this work we try to promote intercultural understanding and networking across national borders, cultures and languages amongst the people of Europe. The work is conducted through spreading information, organizing seminars/meetings/courses, cultural activities, excursions, and exhanges.
The foundation was established as an initiative from the European Movement in Norway. The board consists of representatives from VOX – National Institute for Adult Learning, the National Institute of Technology, the Young European Federalists in Norway, and the European Movement in Norway.

Our courses and seminars EU/EEA and Norwegian Welfare Policies and Social Affairs. Trough new legislation and regulation the European Union is becoming increasingly important within the fields of welfare and social affairs. Trough the European Economic Area (EEA)- Agreement between the EU and EFTA this legislation is also directly or indirectly influencing public and private actors in the Norwegian and social affairs sector.
Womens Lobby Lobbying is not reserved for men in grey suits working for major corporations. Advocacy or lobbying can also be carried out with limited resources – if you know how. In this course you will learn how to influence decision makers in the municipality, government, parliament, or in Brussels.
Emlpoyment These courses are aimed at providing basic knowledge about the European Union, the EEA-agreement and the EU-policies on employment to people from labour organisations and the employers’ organisations.
NGOs and volunteers The Europe House in Oslo also has a study program for active members and employees of Non-Governmental Organisations and volunteer works. These courses provide the participants with knowledge about EU and EEA, with a special focus on the civil society and the work of international NGOs.
Local and regional politicians The developments at the European level also affect politicians active on the local of regional level. This course gives local and regional politicians increased knowledge about the European institutions and structures.
Media/Journalists The Norwegian media has been focusing ever more on the EU and European policies the last couple of years. Trough these course journalists get to know the institutions and structures behind the daily news.
